Ningaloo AND/OR Karijini

It seems there are not enough paddlers who walk or walkers who paddle out there! So, I'm now offering this trip in 2 sections- a 4 day sea kayaking trip from May 12-15 or a 10 day 4WD and walking trip to Karijini and the Chichester Ranges from May 16-25.

The Ningaloo portion is conducted by Capricorn Sea Kayaking. We'll have a base camp in Cape Range NP and each day we will paddle and snorkel a different section of the coast.  This is suitable for novices and I can offer free paddle sessions before we go. May is a fantastic time of year to go to Ningaloo and Hal, from Capricorn, knows the marine park so well. The cost is $950 for the 4 days. You'll need to fly in and out of Exmouth, but you may want to extend your stay to see the whale sharks.

The Karijini section is operated by Coates Wildlife Tours with Rick Curtis and myself leading the trip. Ask anyone who went last year- it is a fantastic trip. The climbs up Mt Bruce and Mt Meharry are stunning and the gorges- what can I say?And now we've added in  Millstream and the Chichesters. Add to that the culinary expertise of Rick and  Pam, Ricks' ability to identify any plant and animal, the star studded skies and the formal dinner! The price for this section is $2400 and you will need to fly into Exmouth and out of Karratha. Anyone who missed out on the Kimberley trip may wish to consider this one instead.

Experience the Kimberley

This trip booked out instantly and I'm afraid that Rick and I are not able to do another one this year. However, Coates have 2 trips operating either side of the one I offered. There is a 15 day one from 28th June -12th July and a 12 day one from August 6-17th. Both go from  Kununurra to Broome. Please contact me if you would like those trip details.

More Canoe trips

Our moonlight paddle trips were very popular and the last one on the Thursday night of the full moon, was perfect. The Sunday people had quite a struggle against the wind- and the mosquitoes!

If you missed out, or want to come again, we'll do another on Wednesday 19th March, 2 days before the full moon which is on Good Friday. The details are the same:

Moonlight Paddle Wednesday 19th March 6-10pm

Meet: 6pm 172 Swan St West (cnr Meares St) Guildford
Bring/Wear: Casual clothes, shoes to get wet, change of clothes, drink, finger food to share
Cost: $35, payable on the day. Inc coffee and cake. 2 person Canadian canoes provided, no experience necessary.

Easter Paddle: Monday 24 March, 9am-1pm

Staying in Perth for Easter? Then join me for a morning paddle on the Canning River. We'll paddle down to Riverton Bridge and back again, following the various secret channels en route!

Meet: Kent St Weir, Kent  St, Wilson
Time: 9am-1pm
Bring/Wear: Casual clothes, shoes to  get wet, water bottle.
Cost: $35  Morning coffee and cake inc.

Walpole to Denmark

This seems to be a very popular trip (and rightly so!). The first one, Oct 30-Nov 7 is booked out. There are still places on the second one, Nov 10-18. However, it may be better to book sooner rather than later for this one.  I was down in Denmark last week - when Perth was sweltering in 42 degrees, I was lighting a fire at night to warm up! So don't  think that November is too hot!

Please note that bookings can't be confirmed until a deposit is received. So if you've told me you want to come on a trip please follow up with a deposit ASAP. Otherwise it's not fair to others.  And don't forget that repeat clients are entitled to $50 off extended trips and that there is also a $50 discount if you pay a deposit for a spring trip before June 20th.
