Christmas and Cocos Island Trip

Christmas and Cocos Island Trip

What a wet trip this was! It rained and rained and then rained again. I guess that's why it's so lush and green! We still saw plenty of crabs and managed to explore the island. We followed this with 3 days on the Cocos Islands- what a  tropical paradise that is! We visited several of the islands, some by motorised canoe! Click here to read the blog.

More Summer Paddles

More Summer Paddles

It seems many people missed out on the last paddles as they booked out. I'm still insured until  the end of February, so I've scheduled some more. These are being run directly by Inspiration Outdoors, not the Glyde In. So email me if you want to come and just pay on the day.

GISELA'S GOURMET PADDLE Wednesday 19th January 5pm-10pm

This is a special treat. A friend of mine, Gisela Cannon, is part of a team of 4 planning to mountain bike the Gibb River Rd next May, that's 700km from Derby to El Questro. It's a recognized charity ride, and they will be aiming to raise $2000 for Police Legacy and Rocky Bay. Police Legacy looks after the spouses and children of policemen and women who are killed. And Rocky Bay, as you no doubt know, looks after children with severe disabilities. Anyway, Gisela happens to be a pretty good cook , so we came up with the plan to hold a moonlight paddle that she would cater for . All the money from this evening will go to the charities involved.

So you will enjoy the sunset as you paddle to our dinner destination. Then feast on Gisela's treats. After the sun sets we return by the light of the silvery moon- to coffee and cake overlooking the river. Two person Canadian canoes provided.

Meet: 5pm 172 Swan St West (Cnr Meares St), Guildford.
What to Bring/wear: Paddling clothes, shoes to get wet, change of clothes, drinks (juice will be provided).

Cost: $50pp inc dinner. All proceeds to the charities.

BREAKFAST PADDLE Sunday 23rd January 8am -12noon

It seems Steve's cooked breakfast is a real draw card! This time we'll meander down the winding channels of the Canning River. Then we'll have our breakfast and return to the start point. Total distance about 7km. Two person Canadian canoes provided.

Meet: 8am, Kent St Weir, Kent St, Cannington.
What to Bring/wear: Paddling clothes, shoes to get wet, change of clothes, water

Cost: $45 pp inc breakfast.

MOONLIGHT PADDLE Friday 18th February 5pm-9pm

Our last moonlight paddle! We had to transfer from this location in December due to wind, so we'll give it another try. We paddle from South Perth to  East Perth, stopping for dinner on Heirisson Island along the way. We paddle into  Claisebrook Cove with its twinkling lights before finishing near Brown St.

Meet: 5pm, the end of Coode St, South Perth, near the boat ramp.
What to Bring/Wear: Paddling clothes, shoes to get wet, change of clothes, finger food to share (in a small container), drink

Cost: $35
