Wayno's Wacky Paddle Race- Sunday Nov 28th

This newsletter is just to let you know about a special day I'm helping to organise. I'm hoping that some of you will support it and its cause.

It is to be a fun day for all the family, both on and off the water. It is being held in memory of a friend of mine, Wayne Lyon, who died of cancer earlier this year. Wayne loved the river and paddling and so his wife Tracy is organising this day to commemorate his life and to raise funds for the Cancer Foundation. Inspiration Outdoors is organising the canoe activities and there will be a canoe rally where you'll follow clues and answer questions along the river, while paddling a 2 person canoe. In addition there will be canoe games and lots of land based games too. Police and Nurses Banking are the major sponsor, providing a $500 bank account to be raffled for anyone that secures additional donations. There will also be lots of spot prizes- hotel accommodation, La Premier tickets, $50 food hamper vouchers, bottles of wine and more.

It's being held at Ascot Kayak Club on Fauntleroy Ave, Ascot on Sunday November 28th, from 9am-2pm. There is a registration fee of $20 for adults, $10 for children or $50 for a family. This fee includes the water activities, land activities, a sausage sizzle, raffle tickets and face painting for the kids. If you just want to do the land activities it's only $5.
