Christmas Island- 30th November -7 December 2009

This is a new and exciting trip. Another joint venture with Coates Wildlife Tours. We're going to explore this fabulous Island,  using 4 wheel drives. We'll be walking, snorkelling and delving into the fascinating history of this unusual island. which has been called the Galapagos of the Indian Ocean. We'll be there during the annual red crab migration. Rick Curtis, our naturalist guide, will introduce us to the many unusual birds and natural wonders as we explore the rainforests, deserted beaches and historic sites.  The cost is $3475. Emails have already been sent to those who have expressed an interest, so if you haven't received the information and you wish to , please contact Coates by email coates@iinet.net.au or phone 93306066. Registrations need to be done directly with Coates.

New Zealand- 17 February-4 March 2010

After the success of the Coates- Inspiration Outdoors trip to New Zealand 2009, what can we do but do it all again in 2010?? We've fine tuned the intinerary a little, adding Stewart Island to the trip. We start in Christchurch, head out to Mt Cook (maybe this time we'll actually see the mountain!), then we move down to the south coast to the Otago Peninsula and the fabulous Catlins area. After a night at the historic Cadrona pub, we hike over the Pisa Range. Then it's off to Wanaka and a hike in The Remarkables. Once again we finish off with the hike into the Matukituki Valley in Mt Aspiring National Park, where we spend 2 nights in a mountaineer's cabin. The whole trip is a mix of accommodation from historic pubs, through to mountain cabins. One night we'll be soaking in a hot tub, the next we'll be sharing a room with others in bunk beds.  One thing is for sure- the food is incredible. The cost is $4575. Check out the blog on my website for the 2009 trip report. www.inspirationoutdoors.com.au/zealandinaugural-trip/

Spring Walking Trips

Our Bibbulmun and Cape to Cape trips are filling up.We still have a few places left on the Cape to Cape  ( click here for this information) and the Walpole to Denmak. Click here for this trip info. Both of these trips are wonderful walks to do in sping so if you're thinking about either of these walks book now. The Albany- Denmark trips are both full, but we often get cancellations.

Bowron Lakes Canoe Circuit

Bowron Lakes Canoe Circuit

As many of you know, I'm currently touring Canada. I've spent the last 2 months in Northern British Columbia, the Yukon and Alaska. Last week I paddled the Bowron Lakes Canoe Ciruit, a 116km chain of lakes and rivers and portages. A wonderful trip, despite the bugs and ever present threat of bears! To read my blog, click  here.

Meanwhile Ginny Brown continues to keep the home fires burning. So if you have any questions just contact her on the usual email address. I'm getting some enquiries about 2010. Unfortunately I won't be setting dates until later in the year, but I expect to have another Karijini and Kimberley trip happening as well as the usual array of walks.
